CAL POLY ENTREPRENEURS

a community of innovators and entrepreneurs

Who We Are

In the Cal Poly Entrepreneurs, the hustlers, hackers, and hipsters of today—and leaders of tomorrow—come together to share their passion for innovation. It is a warm and exciting community that offers a glimpse into the radically spectacular future its members will create, and the officer board works day in and day out to equip fellow visionaries with the skills needed to make their ideas tangible.

From holding weekly meetings, to organizing the caffeine-fueled 54 hours of pure determination that is Startup Weekend, to planning trips to visit inspirational startup companies for quarterly tours, CPE’s student leaders strive to inspire their peers.

What distinguishes CPE from other business clubs, however, is the culture of friendship fostered among members at every meeting, community service outing, and event. At CPE we are reminded that, although the entrepreneurial world is inherently cut-throat and intimidating, pioneering collaboration and connection among uniquely talented and quirky individuals is key to finding success.

Startup Launch Weekend

Startup Launch Weekend is a 54-hour long event in San Luis Obispo, hosted by Cal Poly Entrepreneurs, where participants experience what it takes to start their own company in a hands on scenario.

Participants share their ideas, form teams, engage in customer development, and present their final pitch to a panel of judges.

Throughout the weekend, teams work alongside mentors, faculty members, and local business executives who guide them through the journey. In addition, participants have the opportunity to hear from co-founders and CEOs who have successfully built their own companies.
